Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), a leading IT services company, has confirmed the suspension of employees at its Nashik facility amidst grave allegations of sexual harassment and forced religious conversion. The move comes as authorities investigate claims made by eight female employees against senior colleagues at the multinational firm's office.
Police Investigation Underway
Earlier this week, local police formed a Special Investigation Team (SIT) to thoroughly probe the complaints. The women alleged they were subjected to both mental and sexual harassment, further claiming that their concerns were not adequately addressed by the company's human resources department. In connection with the case, law enforcement has arrested seven individuals, including a female HR manager from TCS.
TCS Reaffirms Zero-Tolerance Policy
In response to the unfolding situation, TCS has reiterated its long-standing zero-tolerance policy against any form of harassment or coercion within the workplace. A company spokesperson stated, "TCS has always ensured the highest standards of safety and well-being of our employees at the workplace. As soon as we were made aware of the matter in Nashik, we took swift action."
The employees currently under investigation have been suspended pending the outcome of an internal inquiry. TCS has affirmed its commitment to cooperating fully with local law enforcement agencies. Further actions by the company will be determined based on the findings of the ongoing investigation.
