TCS Overhauls Leadership in BFSI, Cyber Security, Global Markets Amid AI Push

· · 2 min read

Tata Consultancy Services has implemented a significant leadership reshuffle across its global operations, reorganizing key verticals and service lines. The move aims to sharpen focus on AI adoption, platform-led transformation, and industry-specific growth.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a significant leadership restructuring across its global business, reorienting key industry verticals, geographies, and service lines. This comprehensive overhaul positions India's largest IT services company to capitalize on the next wave of enterprise technology spending, driven largely by artificial intelligence (AI) adoption, automation, and platform modernization.

Strategic Reorganization in Key Verticals

One of the most impactful changes is within TCS's Banking, Financial Services, and Insurance (BFSI) business in the Americas, which accounts for a substantial portion of the company's revenue. This sector has been divided into two distinct operating groups to enhance customer engagement and operational efficiency. Susheel Vasudevan, who previously led BFSI Americas, will now take on a strategic role reporting directly to CEO K Krithivasan. Elevated to lead the two newly formed BFSI business groups are Rakesh Kumar, formerly heading BFSI US West, and Mohan Veeturi, who led the banking business in the US East region.

Expanding Global Footprint and New Opportunities

The restructuring also extends to TCS's international markets. In Canada, Manmeet Chhabra has been appointed country head, succeeding Soumen Roy, who transitions to lead the company's Global Value & Innovation Centres business.

TCS has also established dedicated business groups to pursue long-term opportunities in emerging sectors. Arun Pradeep will head the new Travel, Transport, and Hospitality (TTH) business group, while Sabyasachi Chandra has been tasked with leading the Energy, Resources, and Utilities (ERU) business.

In Europe, Ganesa Vaikuntam will move from leading TCS's cyber security service line to head the Life Sciences business for the UK and Europe region, replacing Vikas Jain.

Focus on Strategic Growth Areas

Chief Operating Officer Aarthi Subramanian announced several key appointments across strategic growth businesses. Rajnish Palande has been named global head of TCS's newly established ServiceNow Business Unit, a move that underscores the company's deepening alliance with the enterprise software provider. Kumaranarayanan, previously leading the North America Energy & Resources business, will now head the cyber security business unit.

Additionally, Akhilesh Tripathi will lead the newly created US West Coast Business Group, which will concentrate on technology, semiconductor, and software clients. V. Rajanna will oversee a consolidated portfolio encompassing communications, media, information services, and technology businesses. Finally, Akhilesh Tiwari will manage global sales for the company's new Autonomous Business Operations (ABO) unit, reflecting a push towards advanced operational efficiencies.
