· · 3 min read

Taylor Swift's former Beverly Hills residence, where she worked on her acclaimed "1989" album, is now on the market for $7.995 million. The 1.5-acre Pillsbury Estate was renovated by its current owners, Nicolas and Roxy Bijan.

The Beverly Hills estate once owned by global pop superstar Taylor Swift, a property reportedly instrumental during the creation of her seminal 2014 album 1989, has been listed for sale at $7.995 million. Known as the Pillsbury Estate, this sprawling 1.5-acre mini-compound offers a unique glimpse into a significant chapter of Swift’s career.

A Home for a Pop Transformation

Swift purchased the Pillsbury Estate in 2011 and resided there while developing 1989, her fifth studio album. This record marked her decisive transition from country music to pop, featuring chart-topping hits like “Shake It Off,” “Blank Space,” and “Style.” The estate served as a creative sanctuary during this pivotal period.

The property was later acquired off-market in 2018 by fashion designer Nicolas Bijan and interior designer Roxy Bijan. The couple has since undertaken extensive renovations, modernizing the residence while preserving its inherent charm. Their redesigned home was even featured in Architectural Digest in 2021.

Estate Features and Modern Amenities

Originally built for the Pillsbury family in 1941, the estate boasts a four-bedroom, five-bathroom layout, divided between a three-bedroom main house and a separate one-bedroom guest house. The property is designed for privacy and luxury, featuring mature live oak trees, multiple fireplaces, a wet bar, and a gourmet kitchen.

  • Bedrooms: 4 (3 in main house, 1 in guest house)
  • Bathrooms: 5
  • Amenities: Gourmet kitchen, wet bar, multiple fireplaces, pickleball court, eight-car motor court
  • Land: 1.5 acres with dense greenery

Nicolas Bijan described the estate to Page Six, noting its exceptional privacy and seclusion. “It feels like you’re in the English countryside — but you can hop in the car and head straight to the Polo Lounge,” he remarked, highlighting its unique blend of serene living with proximity to Beverly Hills’ vibrant dining and luxury hotel scene.

Creative Inspiration and Personal History

The Bijans found a piano in the home office when they moved in, a detail that resonated deeply with Nicolas, inspiring him to launch his fashion brand, NB44. “You can tell beautiful things have happened here. I hope the next person that lives there will feel creatively inspired,” he shared.

Beyond its musical legacy, the Pillsbury Estate holds other connections to Swift’s public image; fans might recognize it from her “73 Questions” interview with Vogue. For the Bijans, the property also holds personal significance, as they married there in 2020 after their original wedding plans in Lake Como were disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. A small piece of Swift's personal history reportedly remains: an olive tree planted by her former boyfriend, DJ Calvin Harris.

While Taylor Swift continues to own the Samuel Goldwyn Estate in Beverly Hills, which she acquired in 2015, her former Pillsbury Estate is now seeking new owners, offering a rare opportunity to own a piece of pop culture history.
