Analyst Outlook on Tata Power Stock
Market experts are largely bearish on Tata Power's immediate future. Jigar S Patel from Anand Rathi noted a support level at Rs 320 and resistance at Rs 350. He suggested that a decisive break above Rs 350 could lead to an upside towards Rs 360, but anticipates the stock will trade within the Rs 320-360 range in the short term.
Virat Jagad of Bonanza Portfolio highlighted a weak bearish structure, with the stock forming lower highs and lower lows and trading below all key moving averages. With the stock around Rs 338.55, major moving averages between Rs 358 and Rs 383 indicate strong overhead resistance. Jagad pointed out an RSI of 28.53, placing it in the oversold zone, which might suggest a short-term bounce but not a confirmed trend reversal. Immediate resistance is pegged at Rs 358–Rs 367, with support at Rs 326–Rs 325.
Deepesh Sarawagi, Technical Research Analyst at Choice Broking, warned that the stock could head towards the Rs 300 mark if the negative trend continues. Sarawagi observed Tata Power trading below a descending trend line that has hampered recovery attempts. The weekly chart shows a broader technical breakdown, with the stock slipping below its 20 EMA, 50 EMA, 100 EMA, and critically, its 200-week EMA near Rs 343.81. The immediate downside cushion is around the Rs 340–Rs 326 band; a failure to hold this zone could trigger an extended decline towards the Rs 300 level. Any relief bounce would face stiff resistance at Rs 356–Rs 360, and further resistance near Rs 373–Rs 380.
