Suzlon Energy Ltd. announced a significant year-on-year decline in its consolidated net profit for the September quarter (Q2 FY27), despite a robust increase in revenue. The renewable energy solutions provider's net profit plummeted by 69.19% to ₹394.15 crore, down from ₹1,279.44 crore reported in the corresponding quarter of the previous fiscal year.

While the year-on-year profit saw a substantial dip, the company's net profit showed a sequential improvement, rising 29.14% from ₹305.22 crore in Q1 FY27. This indicates a recovery trend within the current fiscal year.

Revenue from operations for Q2 FY27 demonstrated strong growth, increasing by 25.96% year-on-year to ₹4,869.05 crore, compared to ₹3,865.54 crore in Q2 FY26. Quarter-on-quarter, revenue also saw a healthy rise of 27.48% from ₹3,819.36 crore in the June quarter.

Operational Highlights and Strategic Focus

Suzlon Energy achieved several operational milestones during the reporting period. The company's net worth has now exceeded the ₹10,000 crore mark, reflecting improved financial stability. Furthermore, Suzlon reported an impressive order book of over 6 GW and recorded its highest-ever deliveries for the first half of FY27.

Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) orders constituted 38% of the total order book, aligning with Suzlon's strategic goal to increase the EPC share to 50% by FY28. Public Sector Undertaking (PSU) and Commercial and Industrial (C&I) customers were key contributors, accounting for 78% of the total order book. The company's order intake for H1 FY27 surpassed 1.5 GW, with DevCo-led orders making up more than 70% of this intake.

CEO's Perspective on Performance

Ajay Kapur, Chief Executive Officer at Suzlon Group, commented on the results, stating, "Our record Q2 deliveries of 710 MW and strong commissioning of 454 MW reflect stronger execution and are driving revenue growth. With H1 order intake exceeding 1.5+ GW and an order book of 6 + GW, we are demonstrating our ability to convert demand into deliveries, while sustaining a strong pipeline for future growth. The rising EPC to 38 per cent share further reflects our expanding role in end-to-end project execution."

The financial results were announced after market hours on Thursday, October 29, 2026. Earlier in the day, Suzlon shares experienced a slight dip, closing 1.45% lower at ₹36.79.
