Indian equity markets experienced mixed signals on Tuesday, driven by global cues, elevated crude oil prices, and rising bond yields. As the market prepares for Wednesday, August 19, several companies are poised to be in the spotlight due to recent developments, IPOs, and corporate actions.

Market Debuts and IPOs

Two companies made their stock market debuts today, attracting significant investor attention:

  • Shiprocket: The logistics solutions provider successfully listed after its Initial Public Offering (IPO) raised Rs 1,617 crore. The IPO, priced at Rs 97 per share, was open from August 12 to August 14 and was subscribed an impressive 99.38 times, receiving over 47.91 lakh applications.
  • Behari Lal Engineering: This integrated metal solutions player also commenced its trading journey, having raised Rs 302 crore from its IPO. The issue, priced at Rs 285 per share, saw robust demand with a subscription rate of 108.44 times, attracting nearly 33.67 lakh applications.

Key Corporate Developments

Aster DM Quality Care

Media reports suggest that Centella Mauritius Holdings, managed by affiliates of TPG, is considering selling a 7.2 percent stake in the healthcare chain. The proposed block deal is expected to have a floor price of Rs 766.1 per share. Centella Mauritius Holdings held a 9.9 percent stake in Aster DM Quality Care as of June 2026.

Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC)

The state-run oil major has commissioned new gas evacuation facilities at Khoraghat GGS-1 in Golaghat, Assam. This strategic development will facilitate the processing and evacuation of surplus associated natural gas from the Upper Assam Shelf through the North East Gas Grid (NEGG), a project by Indradhanush Gas Grid (IGGL).

RailTel Corporation of India

RailTel, the state-run railway infrastructure provider, has secured a significant work order valued at Rs 166.8 crore from the Employees' Provident Fund Organisation.

Atlanta Electricals

The power equipment manufacturer has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from the Transmission Corporation of Andhra Pradesh (APTRANSCO). The order, worth Rs 193.92 crore, involves the design, manufacture, testing, and supply of 12 units of 160 MVA, 220/132 kV autotransformers.

Hindustan Zinc

The metal and mining company continues its clean energy transition, increasing the share of renewable power in its total consumption to 22 percent, up from approximately 18 percent in FY26. The company aims to meet 70 percent of its power requirements through renewable energy by FY28.

HG Infra Engineering

The EPC and infrastructure firm has received a Letter of Intent (LOI) from REC Power Development and Consultancy. This order is for the construction of 220/132/33 kV air-insulated substations at Ranipur (Mau) and Chunar (Mirzapur), along with associated transmission lines, in Uttar Pradesh.

  • Exide Industries: The battery and energy solutions company invested Rs 200 crore in its wholly-owned subsidiary, Exide Energy Solutions (EESL), via a rights issue, bringing its total investment to Rs 5,102.23 crore.
  • Jubilant Ingrevia: The pharma player has agreed to acquire a 40 percent strategic stake in Zettaone Technologies India for Rs 189.2 crore, making Zettaone an associate company.
  • Interarch Building Solutions: Received a Rs 128 crore order for manufacturing, supply, and erection of a pre-engineered steel building system for a major FMCG player's manufacturing facility.
