SECL Chief Reviews Amadand Coal Output and Monsoon Preparedness
Harish Duhan, Chairman-cum-Managing Director of South Eastern Coalfields Limited (SECL), recently conducted a comprehensive review of the Amadand Open Cast Project (OCP). His visit focused on assessing coal production performance, evaluating mine development activities, inspecting infrastructure projects, and ensuring robust preparedness for the impending monsoon season.
Intensifying Production Efforts at Amadand
During his inspection, Duhan critically assessed the project's current coal production levels. He issued clear directives to officials, urging them to intensify efforts to achieve the targeted production capacity. The CMD emphasized the necessity of a well-executed mine development plan, stressing the importance of adequate deployment of equipment, manpower, and other essential resources. This focus aims to ensure sustainable mine development and uninterrupted coal output.
Operational Efficiency and Resource Utilization
A key aspect of Duhan's review included overburden removal operations. He called for the efficient utilization of available blasting resources, highlighting its critical role in maintaining both productivity and operational efficiency across the project. The CMD underscored the need for focused execution of all mining activities to align with the company's broader production goals.
Monsoon Preparedness and Infrastructure Development
With the monsoon season fast approaching, Duhan meticulously inspected the mine's drainage systems, pumping arrangements, slope stability measures, and dewatering infrastructure. He instructed officials to implement robust water management systems to facilitate smooth mining operations even during heavy rainfall. Furthermore, the CMD reviewed the progress of crucial infrastructure projects, including ongoing work at the Transportation and Loading System (TPS) area. He mandated close monitoring of all construction activities to ensure their timely completion.
Employee Welfare and Sustainable Practices
Beyond operational matters, Duhan also took the time to inspect employee welfare facilities at the NIML Camp, including the canteen, dining hall, and kitchen. He stressed the importance of maintaining high standards of hygiene, food quality, and overall workforce welfare. Duhan also commended the kitchen garden developed within the camp premises, encouraging continued efforts to foster a sustainable and employee-friendly working environment.
The visit concluded with the CMD issuing a series of operational and developmental directives designed to enhance productivity, strengthen operational efficiency, and improve employee welfare across the Amadand project.
