Options trader and financial influencer PR Sundar has vehemently denied allegations of sexual harassment, asserting on Wednesday that he is a victim of "motivated complaints and baseless allegations." His comments follow a complaint filed by a TV news reader, which Sundar claims is an attempt to damage his reputation and standing.
PR Sundar Responds to Sexual Harassment Claims
In a statement shared today, Sundar stated he has committed no offense whatsoever and that the complaint is entirely false. He expressed full confidence in the rule of law, vowing to pursue all available legal remedies to ensure the truth emerges through due process.
"Just a matter of time, all the truth will come out. Until then, haters and a certain section of media can enjoy," Sundar posted on X (formerly Twitter).
Allegations Linked to Property Dispute
Sundar contends that the sexual harassment complaint is a calculated attempt to intimidate him and derail legitimate legal proceedings related to a property dispute. He alleges that a residential property owned by his company, Mansun Consultancy, in Nungambakkam, is currently occupied without authorization by a Tamil Nadu police officer of Superintendent of Police rank. Sundar claims this officer has failed to vacate the premises despite repeated requests.
He insists the police officer retaliated by influencing and orchestrating the filing of the false and malicious complaint through the television news reader. Sundar has submitted complaints to the Director General of Police and the Commissioner of Police, seeking action against the officer. Despite assurances from the Commissioner, he states no action has been taken, leading to what he describes as a "witch-hunt."
Prior Regulatory Issues and Public Apologies
This is not Sundar's first encounter with controversy. In May 2023, SEBI (Securities and Exchange Board of India) barred Sundar, his wife Mangayarkarasi Sundar, and Mansun Consultancy from the securities market for one year due to alleged violations of investment adviser norms. Earlier in 2022, Sundar publicly apologized on his YouTube channel for using "unparliamentary words" in a previous Twitter post that had drawn significant criticism.
Sundar Pursues Legal Recourse
Sundar confirmed that legal notices regarding the property dispute have been exchanged. M/s. Mansun Consultancies Pvt. Ltd. is initiating appropriate civil proceedings before the competent court to recover possession and seek other consequential reliefs. He maintains that his legal actions are legitimate and that the current allegations are a direct response to these efforts.
