Payments technology company Pine Labs experienced a 3% drop in its shares on Tuesday, even as it announced a five-year extension of its critical partnership with Australia's Woolworths Group. The agreement secures Pine Labs' Qwikcilver subsidiary as the provider for Woolworths' extensive gift card ecosystem.

Shares of Pine Labs Ltd saw a decline of over 3% in Tuesday's trading session, reaching a low of Rs 167.70, despite the payments technology firm confirming a significant extension of its partnership with the Woolworths Group. The new agreement secures Pine Labs' Qwikcilver subsidiary to continue supporting the Australian retail giant's gift card programs for another five years.

Extended Partnership Details

Under the renewed five-year deal, Pine Labs will bolster Woolworths Group's gift card initiatives through enhanced platform capabilities, deeper API integrations, increased scalability, and advanced digital technology. The collaboration aims to evolve gift card experiences across both physical and digital sales channels, reflecting modern consumer preferences.

Pine Labs stated that Qwikcilver's API-led and modular architecture is instrumental in enabling Woolworths to seamlessly integrate gift card functionalities into its broader commerce ecosystem. This also allows for the creation of new use cases by leveraging existing technological infrastructure. The extended partnership is also geared towards supporting Woolworths' ongoing efforts to modernize its gift card infrastructure.

The stock opened at Rs 172.20 and touched a high of Rs 172.90 during the session, before settling lower compared to its previous close of Rs 173.20.
