Shailesh Jejurikar, already P&G's President and CEO, will assume the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors, effective August 1. He succeeds Jon Moeller, who retires after 38 years with the consumer goods giant.

The Procter & Gamble Company (P&G) has announced the appointment of its President and Chief Executive Officer, Shailesh Jejurikar, as Chairman of the Board of Directors. The new role is effective August 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition for the global consumer goods leader.

Jejurikar, an Indian-origin executive, will take on the additional responsibility while continuing his duties as President and CEO, a position he assumed in January 2026. He succeeds Jon Moeller, who is set to retire from the Board on July 31 and from the company on August 14.

A Distinguished Career at P&G

Born in Mumbai, Jejurikar boasts a career spanning over 37 years with P&G, having joined the company on July 1, 1989. His educational background includes an MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow and a bachelor's degree in Economics from Mumbai University.

Throughout his extensive tenure, Jejurikar has held numerous senior leadership positions across various product categories, business sectors, and international markets. His global experience includes significant contributions in North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa, where he was instrumental in developing P&G's Fabric Care and Home Care businesses. He has also played a pivotal role in shaping the company's strategy and operations across its supply chain, information technology, and global business services.

Tribute to Predecessor

In acknowledging the transition, Jejurikar extended his gratitude to his predecessor. “I want to thank Jon for his many years of tireless and steady leadership at P&G, having served in key roles including Executive Chairman, Chief Executive Officer, Chief Operating Officer, and Chief Financial Officer throughout his 38 years of dedicated service to the company,” Jejurikar stated. He further added, “Jon's strategic vision has been instrumental in shaping the company P&G is today, and we have benefited from his unwavering courage and his profound care for this institution and its people.”

Before becoming President and CEO, Jejurikar served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing P&G's Enterprise Markets, which encompass Latin America, India, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe. In that capacity, he also led critical functions such as Information Technology, Global Business Services, Sales, Market Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and New Business.

Jejurikar now leads one of the world's largest consumer goods companies, reaching approximately five billion people in over 180 countries annually.
