Procter & Gamble (P&G) has appointed Shailesh Jejurikar, its current President and Chief Executive Officer, as the new Chairman of its Board of Directors. The appointment is effective August 1, 2026, marking a significant leadership transition for the global consumer goods giant.
Jejurikar, who assumed the CEO role in January 2026, will take on the additional responsibilities of Chairman while continuing to lead the company as President and CEO. He succeeds Jon Moeller, who will retire from the P&G Board on July 31 and from the company entirely on August 14.
A Distinguished Career at P&G
Born in Mumbai, India, Shailesh Jejurikar brings over 37 years of experience within Procter & Gamble. He joined the company on July 1, 1989, shortly after completing his MBA from the Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Lucknow. He also holds a bachelor's degree in Economics from Mumbai University.
Throughout his extensive career, Jejurikar has held numerous senior leadership positions across various product categories, business sectors, and international markets. His work has spanned North America, Europe, Asia, Latin America, and Africa, where he was instrumental in developing P&G's Fabric Care and Home Care businesses. He has also played a crucial role in shaping the company's strategy and operations across its supply chain, information technology, and global business services.
Leadership Transition and Tribute
Prior to becoming President and CEO, Jejurikar served as Chief Operating Officer, overseeing P&G's Enterprise Markets, which include key regions such as Latin America, India, the Middle East, Africa, Southeast Asia, and Eastern Europe. In this capacity, he also led critical functions including Information Technology, Global Business Services, Sales, Market Operations, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and New Business development.
In a statement regarding the leadership change, Jejurikar extended his gratitude to his predecessor. As the newly appointed Chairman, Jejurikar now leads one of the world's largest consumer goods companies, which serves approximately five billion people in over 180 countries annually.
