Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan has announced that admit cards for the NEET-UG re-examination will be released by June 14, 2026. Candidates will also be granted a one-week window to select their preferred cities for the re-test, which is scheduled for June 21, 2026.

NEET-UG Re-Exam Details and Admit Card Access

The National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (Undergraduate) is being re-conducted following allegations of a paper leak that led to the cancellation of the initial examination. Minister Pradhan confirmed that students will not need to undertake fresh registration or pay any additional fees for the re-examination. Existing application data, including candidate details and previously chosen exam centres, will be carried forward.

Admit cards will be made available through the official National Testing Agency (NTA) website. Students will require their application number and login credentials to download their respective admit cards.

Future Changes and NTA's Stance

Looking ahead, Pradhan also revealed a significant change for future NEET examinations. From the next academic year, the test will transition from an OMR (Optical Mark Recognition) based format to a computer-based test (CBT). He described CBT as "comparatively better" and "a bit more protected" against potential malpractices, acknowledging the growing challenges of cybercrime.

Addressing concerns about the integrity of the examination system, the Education Minister defended the National Testing Agency, stating it is led by a "capable person" and was formed based on Supreme Court recommendations. He emphasized the government's commitment to "zero errors" within the NTA and mentioned the thorough implementation of the Radhaswamy Commission report over the past two years.

Pradhan reiterated the Centre's "zero tolerance" approach towards anti-social elements and the "paper leak mafia," assuring that the next examination cycle would be free from such issues. He further confirmed that the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) is independently investigating the alleged paper leak, promising the harshest punishment for those found involved.
