· · 2 min read

Sukhjit S. Pasricha, President and Head of Human Resources at Jindal Steel, has resigned after less than three months with the company. His departure, effective October 31, was attributed to personal commitments and follows a pattern of senior leadership changes at the steelmaker.

Sukhjit S. Pasricha, who served as President and Head of Human Resources at Jindal Steel, has resigned from the company after a tenure of less than three months. His departure, citing "personal commitments," adds to a series of high-profile leadership exits that have impacted the steel manufacturing giant in recent years.

Pasricha, whose last working day was October 31, joined Jindal Steel in July of this year. The company formally disclosed his resignation in a regulatory filing, classifying him as Senior Management Personnel in accordance with SEBI (Listing Obligations and Disclosure Requirements) Regulations, 2015.

Pasricha's Background and Resignation Details

In his resignation letter addressed to the Managing Director, Pasricha expressed gratitude for the trust placed in him and acknowledged the support received from the Board of Directors and colleagues. He also assured the management of a smooth transition, committing to an orderly handover of his responsibilities.

Before his brief stint at Jindal Steel, Pasricha held significant human resources leadership roles across several prominent organizations. His extensive career includes positions at IndiGo, Kotak Mahindra Bank, Bharti Airtel, and Bajaj Finserv. With over 28 years of professional experience, he brought expertise spanning diverse sectors such as aviation, banking, telecommunications, and financial services.

Pasricha holds a BA Honours degree in Sociology from Panjab University and an MBA in Personnel Management and Industrial Relations (HR) from Guru Nanak Dev University, reinforcing his deep background in corporate and business HR.

Ongoing Leadership Changes at Jindal Steel

Pasricha's resignation continues a pattern of senior executive turnover at Jindal Steel. The company has experienced several significant departures recently, signaling ongoing shifts within its top management.

  • In July 2026, CEO Gautam Malhotra resigned after approximately nine months in the role.
  • CFO Mayank Gupta stepped down in July 2025, having served for around six months.
  • The CFO position has seen multiple changes, including the exits of Hemant Kumar Khanna, Deepak Sogani (who left with a 15-day notice), and Ramkumar Ramaswamy.
  • Former Managing Director Bimlendra Jha, appointed in August 2022, departed in January 2024 after approximately 18 months.

As of now, Jindal Steel has not announced a replacement for Pasricha, either on an interim or permanent basis, nor has it indicated any potential restructuring of its wider HR leadership team following his departure.
