Indian Hotels Stock Hits Record Highs Amid Strong Technical & Fundamental Outlook

· · 3 min read

Shares of Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) have repeatedly hit 52-week highs, reaching Rs 833.35 on Tuesday. Brokerage Geojit maintains a 'buy' rating, citing strong technical breakouts and robust fundamental growth prospects with a target of Rs 985.

Shares of Tata Group's Indian Hotels Company (IHCL) have demonstrated exceptional market performance, hitting a 52-week high of Rs 833.35 during Tuesday's trading session. This surge marks the eighth time the stock has reached a new annual peak in just the last nine sessions, pushing the company's market capitalization to an impressive Rs 1.18 lakh crore as of November 3, 2026.

Amidst this strong upward trend, brokerage firm Geojit has reaffirmed its 'buy' recommendation for IHCL stock, setting an ambitious target price of Rs 985. This target represents a potential upside of 20% from the previous closing price of Rs 820.75, reflecting significant confidence in the hospitality giant's future.

Robust Technical Analysis Signals Continued Strength

Geojit's analysis highlights a powerful technical breakout for IHCL. The stock has successfully moved beyond a weekly descending channel and subsequently broken out of a weekly accumulation pattern, supported by robust trading volumes. This indicates strong buying interest and a clear shift in momentum.

Currently, IHCL shares are trading comfortably above their key moving averages: the 20-day at Rs 731, the 100-day at Rs 720, and the 200-day at Rs 689. This alignment across multiple timeframes signals underlying strength and a sustained bullish trend. Momentum indicators, including the Relative Strength Index (RSI) and Moving Average Convergence Divergence (MACD), further support this positive outlook, both signaling continued bullish momentum. Based on these technical factors, Geojit projects a measured technical upside potential towards the Rs 985 target.

Positive Fundamental Outlook and Growth Triggers

From a fundamental perspective, market consensus suggests that IHCL stock trades at 28 times its estimated FY28E EV/EBITDA. The company is poised for significant profit growth, with earnings per share (PAT) projected to increase by 24% in FY27E and an additional 18% in FY28E. Key triggers for this growth include a anticipated recovery in its TajSATS airline catering business and the strong performance of its overseas hotel portfolio.

Investment Considerations for IHCL

For investors looking to capitalize on this positive momentum, Geojit identifies the Rs 825–840 zone as a potential entry opportunity, contingent on a successful retest of the breakout level. The brokerage also notes that the earlier resistance level of Rs 776 is expected to now act as a crucial support zone. To manage risk, a stop-loss order at Rs 739 has been suggested, aligning with the upside target of Rs 985.
