Investors in Indian Renewable Energy Development Agency (IREDA) shares should brace for a prolonged period of consolidation, as the stock is predicted to trade sideways for weeks or even months. According to Ruchit Jain, a technical analyst at MOFSL, the significant price correction seen in IREDA stock may have largely concluded, but a quick rebound with substantial upside appears unlikely in the near term.
IREDA Enters "Time Correction" Phase
Jain explains that the current phase for IREDA is less about further steep price declines and more about a "time correction." This means that while the downside risk from current levels seems limited, the stock is expected to remain range-bound, testing investors' patience rather than their tolerance for further losses.
The analyst pointed out that IREDA, which once generated considerable optimism post-IPO, has been an underperformer for an extended period. The stock reached a high of approximately Rs 300-310 in July 2024, followed by a sharp correction of about Rs 210. This substantial price reset has now given way to a phase where the stock moves in a narrow band.
What This Means for Investors
For traders and long-term investors alike, the message is clear: immediate significant gains are not on the horizon. Jain suggests that IREDA may consolidate within its current range for the foreseeable future. He cited an earlier bounce from Rs 110 to Rs 140 in April as an example of intermittent pullbacks that can occur even within a broader weak structure.
His advice is cautious: while the severe price damage might be over, investors should not anticipate an immediate breakout. Instead, they should be prepared for a period where the stock searches for direction. For those considering exiting or reviewing their positions, Jain recommends waiting for such rallies to assess their options.
"Price-wise downside seems to be limited, but the stock can spend some time or consolidate within a range over next few weeks or even few months," Jain stated, emphasizing the need for patience.
This outlook underscores a shift from price-driven volatility to a more time-intensive corrective phase, where market participants will need to wait for fundamental or broader market catalysts to drive a sustained upward trend.
