Intellect Design Arena Ltd. saw its shares plunge by over 14% during Friday's trading session, following the release of its second-quarter financial results. Both the company's profit and revenue figures for the September quarter failed to meet analyst expectations, triggering a significant sell-off.
The financial technology firm reported a profit after tax (PAT) of Rs 104.13 crore for the September quarter. While this marked a slight increase from Rs 102.27 crore in the same period last year, it fell short of the Bloomberg consensus estimate of Rs 113 crore. Similarly, revenue from operations reached Rs 855.40 crore, an improvement from Rs 757.02 crore year-over-year, but still below the anticipated Rs 874 crore.
Immediately after the announcement, Intellect Design shares touched a low of Rs 516, representing a 14.43% decline from their previous close of Rs 603.05. The stock opened at Rs 607.70 before experiencing the sharp downward trend.
The company also announced that it would host an investor earnings call today at 5:00 PM IST. During this call, senior management is expected to elaborate on the Q2 FY27 financial performance and address questions from participants regarding the results and future outlook.
Despite the current market reaction, Intellect Design Arena recently received recognition for its advancements in artificial intelligence. At the ET Enterprise AI Awards 2026, Arun Jain, the company's chairman and managing director, was honored as the "Indian CEO Driving AI Innovation." This award acknowledges his leadership in advancing Intellect Design's AI-first strategy and integrating its expertise into enterprise AI solutions.
