The Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIMB) has once again demonstrated its leadership in management education, with its Executive Post Graduate Programme in Management (EPGP) retaining the top spot in India for the fifth consecutive year. In a significant leap, the program also climbed to the second position in the Asia-Pacific region, up from third place in 2025, according to the Bloomberg Businessweek Best Business-Schools Survey 2026.
Consistent Top Ranking and Global Recognition
IIM Bangalore's EPGP, a rigorous one-year MBA program designed for experienced professionals, has consistently performed strongly in global rankings. This marks the sixth consecutive year the program has been featured in the prestigious Bloomberg Businessweek survey, which evaluates business schools based on critical feedback from graduating students, recent alumni, and corporate recruiters.
The program's overall score improved from 71.7 in 2025 to 72.6 in 2026, reflecting its enhanced value proposition. This upward trajectory underscores IIMB's commitment to delivering world-class management education with a strong global focus.
Key Strengths Driving Success
The Bloomberg Businessweek survey highlights several areas of significant improvement for the EPGP. The program recorded its highest-ever scores in learning, networking, and entrepreneurship. The Learning Index score rose from 89.3 to 90.4, indicating excellence in teaching quality, practical application of classroom learning, and emphasis on strategic thinking, problem-solving, innovation, and teamwork.
The Networking Index also saw an increase from 84.7 to 87.7, reflecting stronger interactions between students and alumni, robust career support, enhanced employer recognition, and the expansive reach of the IIMB network. Furthermore, the Entrepreneurship Index experienced the largest jump, climbing from 82.1 to 86.2, signifying the program's effectiveness in preparing students for entrepreneurial careers and fostering a culture of new business creation. The EPGP also secured the second position in the Asia-Pacific region under the Compensation Index.
Prof. U Dinesh Kumar, Director-in-charge, IIM Bangalore, commented on the results, stating, “The strongest gains this year have come in learning, networking and entrepreneurship, which are central to what EPGP is trying to do for experienced professionals.” He added that this improvement suggests the program's value extends beyond academics, impacting the networks, insights, and cross-industry perspectives that candidates carry into their careers.
