Shares of IDBI Bank experienced an uptick in Tuesday's trading session after the lender issued a clarification to stock exchanges regarding a notable increase in its securities' trading volumes.
The bank affirmed that it holds no undisclosed price-sensitive information, nor are there any impending announcements requiring communication to the stock exchanges at this time. This statement followed inquiries from both BSE and NSE, which had sought explanations for the recent surge in the bank's trading activity and share price.
IDBI Bank's clarification specifically addressed a letter from BSE dated August 25, 2026, requesting details on the significant rise in trading volumes across exchanges. Contextually, the strategic disinvestment process for IDBI Bank is currently being managed by the Department of Investment and Public Asset Management (DIPAM), and the bank has consistently made necessary disclosures regarding developments in this regard to the stock exchanges.
Following the clarification, IDBI Bank's stock recorded a 1.67 percent increase in Tuesday's trade. This built on a substantial 6.92 percent jump observed on Monday, when shares closed at Rs 90.90, up from Friday's closing price of Rs 82.24.
