Hexaware Shares Surge 6% on Partnership for Open-Source AI Agent Infrastructure

· · 2 min read

Hexaware Technologies shares rose nearly 6% following its collaboration with Project NANDA Fellowship. The program focuses on building open-source infrastructure for the emerging Internet of AI Agents, aiming to train the next generation of AI engineers.

Hexaware Technologies Ltd. saw its shares climb nearly 6% in Tuesday's trading session following the announcement of a significant collaboration. The global IT solutions provider has partnered with the Project NANDA Fellowship, a three-month initiative dedicated to developing open-source infrastructure for the burgeoning 'Internet of AI Agents'.

Hexaware Joins Project NANDA Fellowship

The collaboration aims to give developers direct, practical experience in constructing the foundational open-source architecture required for advanced autonomous AI agents. Project NANDA, which originated at the prestigious MIT Media Lab, is focused on creating standards and reference implementations for an open, decentralized network of AI agents.

This program addresses a critical technical challenge: enabling AI agents to efficiently discover, verify, and coordinate with each other at scale within complex agentic AI workflows. Contributions from the fellowship will enhance areas such as agent discovery, verifiable identity, and secure coordination across various organizational boundaries.

Fellowship Details and Hexaware's Objectives

The Project NANDA Fellowship is a fully remote program, hosted by FAN (the umbrella organization behind Project NANDA). Hexaware Technologies is supporting the initiative as part of its commitment to the open agentic web ecosystem.

The inaugural cohort will consist of more than 10 fellows, including engineers from Hexaware and external developers selected from a global pool of applicants. Participants will receive a stipend and direct mentorship, alongside the unique opportunity to contribute code that will become an integral part of live, open-source agentic infrastructure. The small cohort size is designed to ensure close mentorship and facilitate meaningful contributions from each fellow.

For Hexaware, this collaboration serves a dual purpose: it aims to train the next generation of skilled AI infrastructure engineers while simultaneously contributing to the wider open-source community and the development of the open agentic web. This initiative also complements Hexaware's existing investments in agentic AI, such as its proprietary AI delivery layer, Zerovity.

Stock Performance

On the day of the announcement, Hexaware Technologies stock opened at Rs 497.25, slightly above its previous close of Rs 497.20. The stock reached an intraday high of Rs 527, marking a gain of approximately 5.99% over the prior closing price, reflecting investor positive sentiment towards the company's strategic move into advanced AI infrastructure.
