Gold Nears ₹1.46 Lakh, Silver ₹1.90 Lakh: What's Driving Precious Metals Rally?

· · 2 min read

Gold futures on the MCX climbed to ₹1,45,519 per 10 grams, while silver reached ₹1,90,298 per kilogram on November 5, 2026. This recovery follows easing bond yields, a weaker dollar, and post-US election market sentiment.

Precious metals experienced a significant rebound on November 5, 2026, with both gold and silver futures posting strong gains in both international and domestic markets. This surge marks a potential trend reversal after previous sell-offs, attracting renewed buying interest from investors.

International and Domestic Price Movements

In the international market, gold advanced 1.80% to trade at $4,146 per ounce, while silver saw a 1.66% increase, reaching $53 per ounce. Domestically, on the Multi Commodity Exchange (MCX), gold futures for 10 grams rose by ₹2,295 (1.60%) to ₹1,45,519. Silver futures for one kilogram also gained ₹2,570 (1.37%), settling at ₹1,90,298.

Factors Fueling the Rally

According to Anuj Gupta, an Independent Research Analyst, several key factors are contributing to this positive momentum in precious metals:

  • Easing Bond Yields: Lower bond yields make non-yielding assets like gold and silver more attractive to investors.
  • Weaker Dollar Index: A depreciating U.S. dollar typically makes dollar-denominated commodities cheaper for holders of other currencies, boosting demand.
  • Appreciating Rupee: A stronger Indian rupee can also influence domestic pricing dynamics.
  • Softer Crude Oil Prices: Reduced crude oil prices often alleviate inflationary pressures, which can indirectly support safe-haven assets.
  • Changing Market Sentiment: Gupta also highlighted a shift in market sentiment following the recent US election results as a supportive factor for the recovery.

Outlook and Key Levels to Watch

Investors are closely monitoring critical support and resistance levels to gauge the sustainability of this rally. Anuj Gupta provided the following outlook:

Gold Outlook

  • International Market: Immediate support is seen at $4,070, with resistance at $4,170 per ounce.
  • MCX: Gold has support at ₹1,42,500 and resistance at ₹1,45,000. A sustained breakout above this resistance could push prices towards ₹1,48,000 per 10 grams.

Silver Outlook

  • International Market: Key support for silver is at $50, with resistance at $55 per ounce.
  • MCX: Support stands at ₹1,80,000, while ₹1,92,000 is the immediate resistance. A decisive move past this level could see silver climbing towards ₹1,97,000–₹2,00,000 per kilogram.

While the recovery has brought buyers back, experts advise watching these resistance levels carefully before assuming a prolonged rally is underway.
