Shares of Glass Wall Systems India Ltd. commenced trading on the stock exchanges Wednesday, marking a positive entry with a 6.59% premium over its initial public offering (IPO) price. The stock opened at Rs 194 on the National Stock Exchange (NSE), surpassing its IPO price of Rs 182 per share.

The Rs 428 crore initial share sale by Glass Wall Systems, a provider of façade solutions, saw robust investor interest. The offering, which ran from September 8-10, was subscribed an impressive 81.65 times overall. Demand was particularly strong from qualified institutional buyers (QIBs), whose portion was subscribed 167.93 times. Non-institutional investors (NIIs) bid 79.71 times, while the retail portion garnered 33.18 times subscription.
The company had set the IPO price band between Rs 172 and Rs 182 per equity share. Ahead of the public issue, Glass Wall Systems successfully raised Rs 128.36 crore from anchor investors, including prominent names like HDFC Mutual Fund, Bank of India Mutual Fund, and Kotak Mahindra Life Insurance Company, by allotting 70.53 lakh shares at Rs 182 apiece.

The mainboard IPO comprised a fresh issue of equity shares valued at up to Rs 60 crore, alongside an Offer-for-Sale (OFS) of 2.02 crore shares by promoters Jawahar Hariram Hemrajani and Eshan Jawahar Hemrajani, and investor shareholder India Business Excellence Fund IIA.
A significant portion of the fresh issue proceeds, Rs 50 crore, is earmarked for establishing a new glass-processing unit at the company's Vile Bhagad facility in Maharashtra. This strategic move aims to enhance backward integration, with the remaining funds allocated for general corporate purposes.
