Dabur India announced a 15% year-on-year rise in consolidated net profit to ₹591 crore for Q1 FY27, with revenue from operations climbing 10.6% to ₹3,761 crore. The company's India FMCG business grew 9.5%.

Dabur India Ltd. on Wednesday reported a strong financial performance for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027, with consolidated net profit surging by 15% year-on-year to ₹591 crore. This marks the third consecutive quarter of double-digit profit growth for the consumer goods giant.

The company's revenue from operations also saw a significant increase, climbing 10.6% to reach ₹3,761 crore during the June quarter. Dabur's India FMCG business was a key growth driver, posting a 9.5% growth, including an underlying volume growth of 5%.

Diversified Portfolio Fuels Growth

Dabur highlighted the strength of its diversified product portfolio, with all three major business verticals contributing substantially to the overall growth. The Home & Personal Care (HPC) business led the charge with an impressive 12.3% growth. The Food & Beverages (F&B) business expanded by 7.2%, while the Healthcare vertical recorded a 5.5% increase during the quarter.

Navigating Inflation and Geopolitical Headwinds

Mohit Malhotra, Dabur's Global Chief Executive Officer, commented on the challenging economic climate. “The quarter unfolded against a backdrop of persistent inflationary pressures, heightened geopolitical uncertainties in the MENA region, and volatile commodity markets,” Malhotra stated. He credited the company’s strong performance to disciplined cost management under 'Project Samriddhi', operational efficiencies, and judicious price adjustments, which collectively helped achieve healthy profit growth.

Rural Demand Outpaces Urban Growth

Interestingly, rural demand showed robust growth, outpacing urban markets by 170 basis points in the first quarter. Rural consumption grew by 6.2% compared to 4.6% in urban areas, indicating a broadening consumption story across India. However, Malhotra cautioned that rural demand would need careful monitoring due to potential impacts from El-Nino, patchy monsoons, and rising inflationary pressures.

The earnings announcement came after market hours on Wednesday. Earlier in the day, Dabur India shares closed up 2.06% at ₹433.45.
