Mahindra & Mahindra-backed premium motorcycle manufacturer, Classic Legends, officially launched its highly anticipated Yezdi Scrambler and BSA Scrambler models on April 23, 2026. The new motorcycles are set to expand the company's footprint in the growing Indian two-wheeler market, offering riders versatile options for both urban commutes and off-road adventures.
Yezdi Scrambler 350cc: Lightest in Segment
The Yezdi Scrambler, featuring a new liquid-cooled 'Katar' engine, enters the market as India’s lightest 350cc scrambler. It carries an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 1,99,950. Designed for agility and rugged performance, the Yezdi Scrambler builds on the brand's legacy of accessible and capable motorcycles.
BSA Scrambler 650cc: British Heritage Revived
Alongside the Yezdi, Classic Legends also introduced the BSA Scrambler 650. This model, powered by a 650cc single-cylinder engine, draws heavily from iconic British scramblers such as the Gold Star Catalina, A10 Spitfire, and A65 Firebird. The BSA Scrambler 650 is priced at an introductory ex-showroom rate of Rs 3,24,950, aiming to bring a blend of classic design and modern performance to enthusiasts.
“I have always believed that scramblers will redefine Indian riding culture the way SUVs redefined passenger four-wheelers. They are the SUVs of motorcycling. Scramblers are built for confident city-riding. But they are also agile and rugged enough to inspire you to explore terrain beyond roads on the weekends,” said Anupam Thareja, Co-founder of Classic Legends.
The Evolution of Scrambler Motorcycles
Scramblers, originally modified by riders for versatile use across varied terrain, are characterized by their lightweight and torque-focused design. Their history dates back to the 1940s and '50s with hand-modified BSAs, followed by Yezdis adapted for Indian roads in subsequent decades. Classic Legends previously revived the format in India in 2022 with the country's first mainstream factory-custom scrambler.
“The first Yezdi Scrambler made the format accessible in India; the new one expands what scramblers can become,” added Boman Irani, Co-founder of Classic Legends.
Classic Legends, a key competitor to Royal Enfield, has demonstrated significant growth, with its sales jumping 45% year-on-year in the financial year 2025-26, underscoring the increasing demand for premium and specialized motorcycle segments in India.
