Shares of Azad Engineering Ltd. experienced a significant rally on Monday, surging 7.07 percent to reach a high of Rs 2,918.95 on the BSE. This impressive performance comes after global investment bank Goldman Sachs maintained its 'Buy' rating on the stock, setting a 12-month target price of Rs 3,315 per share.
The positive sentiment surrounding Azad Engineering is largely driven by the recent inauguration of two exclusive lean manufacturing facilities. These state-of-the-art facilities, each spanning 7,600 square meters, are dedicated to GE Vernova's Gas Power business and are located at Azad's Tunikibollaram Center of Excellence.
New Facilities Boost Growth Prospects
According to Goldman Sachs, these new facilities are crucial for Azad Engineering's medium-term growth. They are designed to manufacture highly engineered rotating and stationary airfoils, along with specialized machined parts. This expansion is expected to significantly strengthen Azad's position within the ongoing gas turbine upcycle.
The investment bank highlighted that the company is effectively moving up the value chain, transitioning from a mere component supplier to a broader platform partner. Azad Engineering's substantial order book further provides multi-year revenue visibility, offering stability and predictability for future earnings.
Strategic Expansion and Future Outlook
Goldman Sachs noted that the product qualifications offered by these new facilities provide incremental optionality beyond the company's existing operations. This development supports their thesis of a multi-year ramp-up in Azad's energy business, fueled by robust demand for gas turbines.
These two new facilities bring Azad Engineering's total dedicated facility count to six since its listing. This includes the commissioning of its fourth dedicated facility for Baker Hughes in April 2026. The expansion deepens Azad's relationship with GE Vernova and enhances customer-specific capacity to support the anticipated increase in demand for gas turbine components.
The new facilities are part of Azad's broader Phase-1 expansion at Tunikibollaram, which encompasses 94,900 square meters, a substantial increase from its legacy 20,000 square meter facilities. Management has indicated that Phase 2, envisaging an additional 67,300 square meters of capacity, will commence construction upon completion of Phase 1. This strategic growth trajectory underscores Azad Engineering's commitment to expanding its capabilities and market presence.
