Ather Energy is preparing to introduce its new family-focused electric scooter, built on the flexible EL platform, with an unveiling scheduled for August 29. Positioned as Ather's most budget-friendly offering, this EL-based scooter features a traditional, rounded design. It is expected to accommodate battery packs ranging from 2 kWh to 5 kWh. The initial model, likely named EL01, will reportedly offer 2–4 kWh battery options, providing a claimed riding range of approximately 100–160 km. Ather has also hinted at innovations in charging technology, software features, and ownership services to accompany the launch.
VinFast Viper E: Sporty Electric Entry
Vietnamese electric vehicle manufacturer VinFast has submitted designs for its Viper E scooter and intends to launch it in India later this year. The Viper E blends large-wheel, Asian-style scooter proportions with a sporty aesthetic, characterized by a broad front apron and sleek LED lighting. In international markets, the Viper E is available with two battery choices: a 1.5 kWh single unit offering an estimated 82 km range, or a 3 kWh twin-pack capable of about 145 km. This electric scooter can achieve a top speed of 70–90 km/h.
Honda Activa 7G: The Next Evolution
The Honda Activa remains a dominant force in India's scooter market, and its next iteration, the Activa 7G, is slated for launch later this year. Building on the legacy of the Activa 6G 110, the 7G model will feature subtle visual enhancements rather than a complete overhaul, aiming to maintain its widespread appeal.
