Shares of Aster DM Quality Care Ltd. fell over 4% in Wednesday's trade after investor Centella Mauritius divested a 7.2% stake. The significant block deal involved 6.24 crore shares at a discounted floor price.

Aster DM Quality Care Ltd., formerly known as Aster DM Healthcare Ltd., experienced a notable decline in its share price today, dropping more than 4% in Wednesday's trading session. This significant movement followed reports of a major block deal initiated by investor Centella Mauritius.

Centella Mauritius, an investment vehicle controlled by affiliates of TGP Inc., sought to offload 6.24 crore company shares, representing a 7.2% stake in Aster DM. The transaction was reportedly executed through Citi, with a floor price set at Rs 766.10 per share. This floor price represented a 6.34% discount compared to Tuesday's closing price, contributing directly to the stock's downward pressure.

The market reacted swiftly to the news, with Aster DM shares opening down 4.26% at Rs 783. Trading volume surged dramatically, with a total of 52.09 crore shares changing hands, aggregating approximately Rs 400 crore. This volume far exceeded the two-week average of 1.64 lakh shares, indicating strong market activity surrounding the block deal. Centella Mauritius held a 9.9% stake in Aster DM at the end of the June quarter, and its remaining stake will be subject to a 60-day lock-in period.

Aster DM is recognized as one of the largest integrated healthcare providers operating across the GCC region and India. Despite the current share price dip, the stock maintains a consensus 'Buy' rating among analysts, with a majority of recommendations favoring a purchase. Bloomberg's 12-month consensus target for the stock stands at Rs 922.25, suggesting a potential upside of 12.7% from current levels. Brokerages like Centrum Broking and SMIFS have also issued 'Buy' or 'Accumulate' calls with targets ranging from Rs 920 to Rs 940.
