· · 2 min read

Amber Enterprises reported a 97% drop in Q1 FY27 net profit to Rs 3 crore, driven by an exceptional loss of Rs 123 crore. Despite the significant profit decline, the company's shares closed higher on Thursday.

Amber Enterprises, a leading electronics manufacturer, announced a sharp 97% decline in its net profit for the first quarter of fiscal year 2027. The company's profit plummeted to Rs 3 crore, down from Rs 106 crore in the corresponding period last year, primarily due to an exceptional loss amounting to Rs 123 crore.

Financial Performance Overview

Despite the substantial hit to its net profit, Amber Enterprises demonstrated growth in other key financial metrics. Revenue for Q1 FY27 rose by 13% to Rs 3888 crore, compared to Rs 3449 crore in the year-ago quarter. Operating EBITDA also saw a healthy increase of 28%, reaching Rs 337 crore from Rs 263 crore previously. Profit Before Tax (PBT) grew by 13% to Rs 182 crore from Rs 161 crore.

Stock Market Reaction and Future Outlook

Interestingly, Amber Enterprises shares ended 2.19% higher at Rs 7174.50 on Thursday, against a previous close of Rs 7021, bringing the firm's market capitalization to Rs 25,302 crore. This positive market reaction comes despite the significant profit reduction.

Looking ahead, Daljit Singh, Managing Director of Amber Enterprises, highlighted strategic moves aimed at future growth. The Amber Group is set to venture into mobile phone manufacturing through a new Manufacturing Collaboration Agreement with OPPO Mobiles India Private Limited. This partnership is expected to diversify revenue streams and open new avenues for growth within the electronics industry.

Furthermore, the company conducted a ground-breaking ceremony for its High-Density Interconnect (HDI) Printed Circuit Board (PCB) manufacturing facility at YIEDA, Jewar, Uttar Pradesh. This expansion, part of the Ascent-K Circuit's initiative, leverages expertise from both Amber Group and Korea Circuit Co., aiming to strengthen its position in advanced electronics components.
