· · 2 min read

Kalpataru Projects International (KPIL) has secured a significant Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) gas pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates, valued at over Rs 4,000 crore. The announcement saw KPIL's shares dip 1.46% on Monday amidst broader market weakness.

Kalpataru Projects International Ltd (KPIL) has announced a substantial new contract in the oil and gas sector, securing an Engineering, Procurement and Construction (EPC) gas pipeline project in the United Arab Emirates. The company disclosed that it received a Letter of Award (LoA) for the project, which is classified as a 'major order' with an estimated value exceeding Rs 4,000 crore.

KPIL's Strategic Expansion in the UAE

This significant win reinforces KPIL's established presence and capabilities within the global oil and gas EPC market. The company confirmed that the order was received through its normal course of business, falling under its dedicated Oil & Gas business unit.

Manish Mohnot, MD & CEO of KPIL, expressed his satisfaction with the achievement. "We are delighted to secure this prestigious international project, which reinforces our proven capabilities and robust track record in the global Oil and Gas sector," Mohnot stated. He further emphasized that the order highlights KPIL's technical expertise, operational excellence, and its capacity to expand global operations.

Market Reaction and Company Outlook

Despite the positive news of the order win, shares of Kalpataru Projects experienced a slight decline. On Monday, KPIL's stock fell by 1.46%, touching a low of Rs 1,370.70 compared to its previous close of Rs 1,391.05. This dip occurred amidst a generally weak sentiment across the broader market, suggesting the stock's movement was influenced by wider economic factors rather than solely the contract announcement.

The UAE project is a strategic move that strengthens KPIL's international project portfolio. The company operates across a diverse range of infrastructure segments, including power transmission and distribution, buildings and factories, water infrastructure, railways, urban mobility, and the oil and gas sector. This latest contract underscores KPIL's ongoing efforts to expand its EPC operations across various global markets, enhancing its footprint in critical energy infrastructure development.
