· · 2 min read

Aastha Spintex has commenced on-site installation of its 1.35 MW rooftop solar project at the recently acquired Falcon Yarns facility in Gujarat. This initiative supports the company's significant expansion and aims to reduce energy costs.

Aastha Spintex has moved its ambitious 1.35 MW rooftop solar project at the Falcon Yarns facility in Gujarat into the on-site execution phase. The installation work is now actively underway at the manufacturing plant, marking a significant step in the company's strategic expansion and commitment to sustainable energy.

As of September 16, progress reports indicate that approximately 70% of the marking work for the module mounting structures has been completed, with the overall installation around 40% finished. A dedicated team of 13 personnel is deployed at the site to ensure timely completion of the project, which has already secured registration from the Gujarat Energy Development Agency (GEDA).

Strategic Expansion and Energy Cost Reduction

This solar project is more than just a renewable energy addition; it is an integral part of Aastha Spintex's broader strategy to expand beyond its traditional yarn business. The acquisition of Falcon Yarns has dramatically increased the company’s manufacturing footprint.

  • Spinning Capacity: Expected to rise from 7,700 MT to an impressive 17,457 MT.
  • Spindle Capacity: Set to increase from 25,920 to 61,824.

Beyond increasing capacity, Aastha Spintex is also diversifying into fabric manufacturing, including both grey and other value-added textile products. The Aastha Spintex solar project will play a crucial role in supporting these expanded operations by significantly reducing energy costs, thereby enhancing operational efficiency and profitability.

Improved Financial Performance

The company's strategic moves, including the Falcon Yarns acquisition and this renewable energy investment, align with its improved financial trajectory. Over recent fiscal years, Aastha Spintex has demonstrated robust growth:

  • Revenue: Increased from ₹240 crore in FY23 to ₹352 crore in FY25.
  • Net Profit: Soared from ₹1.1 crore to ₹23 crore during the same period.

Operating profit and EBITDA margins have also shown substantial improvement, reflecting the positive impact of its expansion and integration efforts. The rooftop solar installation is expected to further bolster these financial gains by providing a stable and cost-effective power source for its enlarged manufacturing platform.
