Kyiv Targets Logistics Facilities
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed that Ukrainian forces struck two logistics facilities. He stated these sites were used to supply sanctioned components crucial for Russian drone production and navigation equipment. This marks an expansion beyond earlier targets, which primarily included energy infrastructure, oil refineries, and defense industry factories.
Russian regional officials reported casualties from the strikes. Governor Evgeniy Pervyshov of the Tambov region stated that 25 people were injured after drones struck a Wildberries warehouse in Kotovsk, approximately 475 kilometers southeast of Moscow. He also claimed the drones carried specialized warheads designed to inflict greater casualties and that Russian air defenses intercepted 28 drones.
A second Wildberries warehouse in Elektrostal, east of Moscow, was also impacted, with Moscow region Governor Andrei Vorobyov reporting 24 injuries from that attack.
Strategic Shift in Long-Range Campaign
For much of the ongoing conflict, Ukraine's deep-strike strategy concentrated on Russia's energy sector and facilities directly linked to weapons manufacturing. Robert Brovdi, commander of Ukraine's Unmanned Systems Forces, indicated that Ukrainian drones had struck 172 vessels belonging to Russia's "shadow fleet" in the Black Sea and Sea of Azov over the preceding two weeks.
