Prateek Yadav, the 38-year-old younger son of Samajwadi Party founder and veteran politician Mulayam Singh Yadav, died in Lucknow on Wednesday following a sudden illness. He was the stepbrother of current SP chief Akhilesh Yadav.

Sources indicate that Prateek Yadav was rushed to a civil hospital in the early hours of the morning, around 5:10 am, but was officially declared dead by 6 am. An autopsy is expected to be conducted by a panel of doctors to ascertain the exact cause of death.

A Life Beyond Politics

Despite his prominent political lineage, Prateek Yadav consciously maintained a distance from active politics. He carved out his own identity as a dedicated fitness enthusiast and a passionate animal lover, actively supporting multiple animal shelters.

Prateek was born to Mulayam Singh Yadav and his second wife, Sadhna Gupta. The Samajwadi Party expressed profound grief over his demise, posting a heartfelt tribute on X: "The demise of Shri Pratik Yadav Ji is extremely heartbreaking! May God grant peace to the departed soul. Humble tribute!"

Family Dynamics and Recent Events

His brother-in-law, Aman Bisht, was present at the hospital following the tragic news. Prateek Yadav's wife, Aparna Bisht Yadav, is a political figure in her own right, serving as the vice chairperson of the State Women's Commission after joining the BJP.

Earlier this year, the couple's relationship briefly became public news when Prateek posted on Instagram about seeking a divorce, citing a "serious dispute" with Aparna. However, the matter was swiftly resolved, with Prateek announcing a mutual resolution and posting a video alongside his wife just days later, dismissing "haters."
