Nine passengers tragically lost their lives and several others sustained injuries when a private tourist bus caught fire on the Yamuna Expressway early Thursday morning. The incident occurred near the Noida International Airport site in Jewar, transforming a routine journey into a desperate struggle for survival.
The bus, carrying an estimated 30 to 50 passengers from Delhi to Mahoba, was traversing the expressway when a sudden and intense blaze erupted. Most occupants were asleep in their berths, leading to immediate panic as flames rapidly consumed the vehicle's interior. Eyewitnesses and survivors recounted frantic efforts to escape, with some passengers rushing towards exits while others desperately broke glass windows to leap onto the highway.
