· · 2 min read

Mohammad Yousuf Ali, an Indian national from Hyderabad, has died following injuries sustained in Saturday's missile attack on Riyadh's international airport. His two sons were also injured, while his wife and daughter are safe.

An Indian national, Mohammad Yousuf Ali from Mehdipatnam, Hyderabad, has tragically died on Sunday, October 11, 2026, after sustaining severe injuries in a missile attack on Riyadh's international airport the previous day. The attack, attributed to Iran-backed Houthi rebels, also left his two sons injured.

Family Devastated by Airport Strike

Mohammad Yousuf Ali was among those critically wounded in the assault on King Khalid International Airport on Saturday, October 10, 2026. His family, also caught in the attack, reported that one son is undergoing knee surgery, while another sustained severe injuries, including the loss of three toes, and remains hospitalized. Fortunately, Ali's wife and daughter are reported safe, though an aunt who was with them suffered a head injury but is now out of danger.

"It is learnt that one Indian national injured in the Riyadh attack has unfortunately lost his life today. We convey our heartfelt condolences to the family of the deceased. We are in touch with the family and will provide all support for ensuring the early repatriation of mortal remains." — Indian Embassy in Saudi Arabia (via X)

The Indian embassy in Saudi Arabia confirmed the tragic loss and assured full support to Ali's family for the early repatriation of his mortal remains. AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi identified the deceased and urged External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar to provide all possible assistance to the affected family.

Escalating Conflict in Riyadh

Ali's death comes amid a fresh strike on Riyadh's international airport on Sunday, marking the second such attack in as many days. Saturday's missile assault was particularly devastating, killing 12 people and wounding over 300, many critically. A Saudi-led coalition, engaged in conflict with Houthi rebels in Yemen, reported that a projectile struck a passenger terminal at the airport on Sunday. Details of this latest incident, which impacted terminals 3 and 4, remain scarce.

These escalating attacks are the deadliest in a Gulf Arab nation since the Iran war began and threaten to draw greater US military involvement in the region. King Khalid International Airport remained closed on Sunday following the strikes.
