CJP chief spokesperson Saurav Das stated that the delegation, which included national spokesperson Ashutosh Ranka, presented their demands during a brief 10-minute interaction after waiting for over two hours.
Key Demands Presented to the Government
The CJP delegation outlined three primary demands to Minister Nadda:
- The immediate resignation or removal of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.
- The release of activist Sonam Wangchuk.
- A compensation of ₹1 crore for the families of NEET aspirants who allegedly died by suicide due to the irregularities.
Saurav Das confirmed that while Nadda assured them he would discuss the demands at the appropriate level, no concrete assurances were given. Das emphasized that peaceful protesters would continue their agitation until their demands are met.
Government Opens Dialogue, No Firm Assurances
According to the CJP, Nadda requested time to consult with the government leadership before responding to the demands. Ashutosh Ranka noted that the government's initial outreach occurred late Sunday night, with substantive discussions leading to the meeting with Nadda by Monday morning. Despite the dialogue, the CJP expressed frustration over the lack of immediate commitments.
