Cab Driver Claims Siya Goyal Removed Item Before Ketan Agrawal's Passport Vanished

· · 2 min read

A cab driver in the Ketan Agrawal murder case claims accused Siya Goyal removed an item from her purse near the cab's boot on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, shortly before Ketan's passport mysteriously disappeared at the airport. Police link the missing passport to a wider murder conspiracy.

A new claim from the cab driver who transported Pune businessman Ketan Agrawal and murder accused Siya Goyal to Mumbai Airport has added a crucial dimension to the ongoing investigation into Agrawal's death. Ketan Agrawal, 26, died after falling from Lohagad Fort on June 18, with police subsequently arresting Siya Goyal and her alleged lover, Chetan Chaudhary, on charges of conspiracy to murder.

Cab driver Vaibhav Jadhav told Aaj Tak that on the day of their scheduled Bali pre-wedding photoshoot, he picked up the passengers from Pune. Jadhav alleged that Siya Goyal stopped the cab on the Mumbai-Pune Expressway, specifically at a food mall for tea. Upon her return, she requested the boot be opened and was seen taking an unidentified item from her purse near the boot area.

Passport Disappearance Precedes Murder Investigation

This incident, according to Jadhav, occurred shortly before Ketan Agrawal’s passport mysteriously went missing at the airport. The disappearance of the passport ultimately led to the cancellation of the couple's Bali trip, which was planned for June 6. Ketan's father, Vishal Agrawal, stated that all travel documents, including passports and currency, were kept in a single pouch, yet only Ketan's passport was found to be missing upon arrival at the airport.

Jadhav recounted that after dropping the group at the airport, he received a call about a small bag left in the cab, which he returned. Soon after, another call claimed Ketan's passport might have fallen inside the vehicle. Despite a thorough check and a video call demonstration of the cab's interior, the passport was not found. Ketan and his brother, Sahil Goyal, later searched the cab themselves at the airport, but the document remained elusive.

Police Allege Broader Conspiracy

Police have since alleged that Siya Goyal intentionally stole and destroyed Ketan's passport to prevent the trip. Investigators believe the passport's disappearance was not an isolated incident but part of a broader conspiracy directly linked to the Ketan Agrawal murder case. The police claim that Siya Goyal and Chetan Chaudhary had planned multiple attempts before Ketan's death at Lohagad Fort.

Earlier Disputes Reported

The cab driver also noted tensions during the journey, stating that Siya initially refused to enter the cab and had to be persuaded by her brother, Sahil Goyal. Jadhav further claimed that Siya and Sahil had an argument during the drive from Pune to Ravet, where Ketan joined them.
