Deepinder Goyal's health technology startup, Temple, has officially announced the acquisition of Longevous, a London-based firm specializing in evidence-based longevity care. The strategic move integrates Longevous's expertise and its key founders into Temple's expanding operations.
Leadership Boost for Temple
The acquisition brings Dr. Robert Mohr and Dr. Avi Roy, the founders of Longevous, to Temple in full-time leadership roles. Dr. Mohr, a board-certified physician with nearly two decades of clinical experience, will serve as Temple's Chief Medical Officer. His background spans emergency medicine, preventive care, and precision medicine, now focusing on evidence-based longevity.
Dr. Roy, an Oxford-trained biomedical scientist, will assume the role of Temple's Head of Science. He has a significant track record at the intersection of longevity science and business, having co-founded Founders Health and UDA, and previously serving as a research fellow at the University of Oxford's Centre for the Advancement of Sustainable Medical Innovation.
The Genesis of the Partnership
Goyal revealed that the initial connection was made during a dinner in London a few months prior. The conversation sparked when Mohr and Roy noticed Goyal wearing the Temple device and inquired about its function. Following this encounter, both founders personally tested Temple's experimental wearable for two months, meticulously tracking their activities.
They subsequently collaborated with Temple's science team, rigorously testing its technology and data. Goyal noted that Mohr and Roy "challenged our assumptions and poked holes in our vision," contributing significantly to Temple's validation work and reviewing its initial scientific manuscripts before submission.
Temple's Focus on Neurological Health
Temple, Goyal’s innovative health-tech venture, is dedicated to developing an experimental wearable device centered on brain and neurological health. Its core function is to experimentally monitor cerebral blood flow—the circulation of blood in the brain—in real time, with the ultimate goal of enhancing brain and cognitive well-being.
Longevous will continue its operations as an integral part of Temple. Dr. Mohr and Dr. Roy will maintain their personal oversight of Longevous clients while contributing their specialized skills to Temple. Dr. Mohr will provide essential clinical expertise to Temple’s experiments and claims, while Dr. Roy will spearhead its overarching scientific endeavors.
