· · 2 min read

Quick-commerce firm Zepto has topped LinkedIn's 2026 Top Startups India list for an unprecedented fourth consecutive year. The ranking highlights a dynamic ecosystem, with 13 new companies entering the top 20 and a strong focus on AI and quick commerce.

For the fourth consecutive year, quick-commerce giant Zepto has secured the number one position on LinkedIn’s coveted 2026 Top Startups India list. The annual ranking, released on October 14, identifies companies that are not only attracting significant professional interest but also offering promising career opportunities across India's vibrant startup landscape.

Emerging Trends: AI and Quick Commerce Drive Growth

This year's list showcases a significant shift in India’s startup ecosystem, with 13 new companies making their debut in the top 20. Notably, four of the top five spots are held by first-time entrants, signaling fresh momentum in various sectors. Two dominant themes emerged from the 2026 ranking: the continued rise of quick commerce and the increasing prominence of artificial intelligence.

Quick commerce and on-demand services remain a powerful force. Beyond Zepto's consistent performance, Snabbit, an on-demand house-help platform, climbed to sixth position from 14th last year. Food and grocery delivery platforms Swish and FirstClub also featured at 11th and 16th place, respectively, underscoring the demand for rapid consumer services.

Artificial intelligence is another core driver of innovation, with six of the top 20 startups having AI at the heart of their operations. These include:

  • Zetheta Algorithms Private Limited (5th)
  • Weekday (an AI-driven hiring platform, 8th)
  • Sarvam (9th)

Other notable companies on the list span diverse sectors such as education, content creation, financial services, healthcare, and consumer businesses, featuring names like Bhanzu, Scapia, Immunoscript Life Science, PALMONAS, and Akasa Air.

LinkedIn's Ranking Methodology

LinkedIn compiles its Top Startups list by evaluating eligible companies across four key parameters over a period from July 1, 2025, to June 30, 2026. These metrics include employment growth, overall engagement on the platform, job interest generated, and the company's ability to attract top talent from established firms.

Tips for Jobseekers

For professionals looking to navigate their careers, especially within smaller companies, LinkedIn highlights the crucial role of professional networks. Recent data indicates that 94% of professionals at companies with 10-49 employees consider their networks important for career progression. Furthermore, 35% reported that a connection had directly aided their career, while 29% discovered new job opportunities through their professional contacts.
