Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has secured a multi-million euro, multi-year contract to modernize Canada Life's European IT infrastructure. The AI-led transformation aims to boost operational resilience and user experience across data centers and core systems.

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has announced a significant multi-million euro, multi-year technology transformation and managed services contract with Canada Life, a global life and pensions insurer. This agreement positions TCS to modernize and manage Canada Life’s critical IT infrastructure across its European operations, encompassing the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Germany.

Transforming European IT Infrastructure

Under the new deal, TCS will take charge of modernizing and managing various facets of Canada Life’s IT services. This includes data centers, core infrastructure, end-user computing, and comprehensive software lifecycle management. The Indian IT major plans to deploy its advanced artificial intelligence and digital capabilities to achieve several key objectives: enhancing operational resilience, significantly increasing automation, and improving the overall user experience for Canada Life's employees and customers.

Caroline Dibbs, Chief Information & Transformation Officer, Europe at Canada Life, emphasized the strategic importance of this partnership. "Working with TCS marks the next stage of our journey to modernise the technology foundations that underpin our business," Dibbs stated. "It was important to choose a partner that understands our long-term vision and shares our commitment to people and innovation. TCS brings deep technical expertise, strong transformation capabilities and a collaborative approach that aligns well with our strategy. Together, we will deliver lasting improvements to the technology services and capabilities that support our business and the people who depend on it."

Strengthening AI-Led Growth and Market Position

For TCS, this contract aligns perfectly with its strategic focus on becoming a leading AI-led technology services company. The Mumbai-headquartered firm has increasingly highlighted AI-driven transformation as a crucial growth area, capitalizing on the rising enterprise investment in automation and modernization initiatives globally.

Vinay Singhvi, Head, UK & Ireland, Tata Consultancy Services, commented on the new partnership: "We are delighted to be selected as the strategic partner for Canada Life's technology modernisation journey across the UK and Europe. This co-operation is a testament to our leadership in AI-led transformation, marking a significant step on our journey to becoming the world's largest AI-led technology services company." Singhvi added that by leveraging TCS's deep domain expertise, the company will help Canada Life achieve greater operational efficiency, enhance resilience, and create a more agile, responsive IT ecosystem to support its long-term growth.

As part of its commitment to the engagement, TCS plans to expand its infrastructure services talent pool across the UK, Ireland, the Isle of Man, and Germany. This expansion will be supported by investments in training, certification, and career development programs for its employees. The agreement further solidifies TCS's presence in the UK and Ireland and reinforces its position as a trusted transformation partner for insurance, life, and pensions providers across the region.
