Huang's comments come amidst investor and analyst anxieties that have reportedly impacted IT sector stocks, including major players like Salesforce, Atlassian, and SAP.
AI Agents to Drive Software Demand
Contrary to the 'SaaSpocalypse' narrative, Huang posited that the rise of AI agents would actually lead to an increased demand for software. He highlighted that these intelligent agents would necessitate a vast array of software tools, databases, workflows, and platforms to perform their tasks effectively. According to Huang, AI agents could potentially consume more software than humans currently do.
“A lot of people have said, ‘Jensen, AI is coming. Agentic AI is coming. Therefore, all of the software companies are going to go out of business.’ This is actually an incredible time to be a software company, but the software has to be presented to the agent in a way that the agent can use it.”
