Google has implemented a significant price increase for its Pixel 10a smartphone, raising the cost by ₹6,000 in India. The popular affordable Pixel device, which was initially launched at ₹49,999, now retails for ₹55,999 for the 8GB RAM and 256GB storage configuration.
This price adjustment is not exclusive to the Indian market; the Pixel 10a has also become more expensive in the United States and other regions. In the US, the 128GB model now starts at $599, up from its previous $499, while the 256GB version is priced at $699.
Reasons Behind the Global Price Revision
The tech giant attributes these price changes to the escalating costs of RAM and storage components. Industry analysts suggest that a surge in demand from AI data centers is a primary factor driving up the prices of these crucial hardware elements, impacting smartphone manufacturing costs globally.
Despite the price hike, the core specifications of the Pixel 10a remain unchanged. Google's official India Store and major US retailers have already updated their listings to reflect the new pricing.
