Boundless Ventures Dedicates $35M Fund Entirely to Early-Stage AI Startups

· · 2 min read

Natasha Malpani's Boundless Ventures has launched a $35 million fund, investing exclusively in early-stage AI companies. The firm has already backed 10 startups across diverse sectors, with plans for 25-30 deals.

Boundless Ventures, the venture capital firm led by Natasha Malpani, is making a significant bet on the future of artificial intelligence. The firm has launched a dedicated $35 million fund (approximately Rs 300 crore) focused solely on early-stage AI companies, from pre-seed to seed rounds.

Malpani, an immunologist by training with a background in cancer research and healthcare investing, founded Boundless Ventures in mid-2025. Her decision to pivot entirely to AI investing was spurred by the transformative impact of the “ChatGPT moment” on industries, particularly media.

Strategic Investments Across AI Frontiers

Within just a year of its launch, Boundless Ventures has already invested in 10 companies, with two more deals anticipated soon. The firm aims to complete 25-30 deals overall, with typical cheque sizes ranging from $500,000 to $1 million. These investments span a wide array of sectors, all unified by their reliance on AI innovation. Portfolio companies include:

  • Armatrix: Developing intelligent robots.
  • Knot: An AI-powered fashion delivery platform.
  • PIersight: A space-tech startup building SAR systems for maritime surveillance.
  • Superhealth: A health tech platform.

The firm maintains a global perspective, closely monitoring developments in Silicon Valley, while its core team operates out of Bengaluru, India. Boundless Ventures also has scouts in both the Valley and London, ensuring a broad reach for identifying promising AI ventures.

Anticipating Widespread AI Disruption

Malpani emphasizes that the AI frontier is constantly evolving and largely unknowable. To stay ahead, Boundless Ventures actively engages with universities, founders, AI researchers, developers, and hyperscalers, fostering a collaborative approach to market building.

She foresees massive disruption across various domains in the coming years. Coding agents have already seen significant changes, and knowledge work, front and back-office operations, and workflows are next in line for transformation. On the consumer side, AI will drive enhanced personalization, search, discovery, and multimodal interactions. Furthermore, robotics is expected to revolutionize manufacturing processes.

Addressing concerns about India's position in the global AI race, Malpani asserts that the country has not missed the bus. While perhaps not at the forefront of large language model development, India is home to cutting-edge work in areas like space tech and robotics. She believes innovation is just beginning and that diversification, including smaller AI models, will emerge, leading to significant disruption worldwide.
