Apple's John Ternus Era: 10 New Products Including Foldable iPhone & AI Wearables

· · 2 min read

Incoming Apple CEO John Ternus is reportedly preparing to launch a wave of new innovations, including a foldable iPhone, smart home devices, and AI wearables. This expanded product roadmap signals a significant shift from the Tim Cook era.

As John Ternus steps into his new role as Apple's CEO, the tech giant is reportedly gearing up for a substantial overhaul of its product lineup. After years characterized by incremental updates, Apple is now poised to introduce approximately ten major new product categories under Ternus's leadership, marking a distinct departure from previous strategies.

A Broad New Product Pipeline

This ambitious roadmap extends far beyond Apple's traditional iPhone, Mac, iPad, and Apple Watch. Consumers can anticipate a diverse range of hardware innovations spanning foldable devices, advanced AI-powered wearables, sophisticated smart-home hardware, and entirely new computing formats.

One of the first major launches under Ternus is expected to be a highly anticipated foldable iPhone, potentially arriving less than two weeks after he assumes the CEO position. This premium device, projected to cost $2,000 or more, is designed to attract Android users already familiar with foldable technology. Apple is reportedly prioritizing exceptional durability, an invisible screen crease, an iPad-like user experience, and robust performance for this flagship product.

Expanding Beyond Personal Devices

The innovation pipeline isn't limited to smartphones. Apple is also said to be developing a suite of smart home devices, including:

  • A smart home hub equipped with a screen.
  • A unique tabletop robot featuring a display mounted on a moving robotic arm.
  • A privacy-focused security camera system.

Furthermore, the company is reportedly exploring new frontiers in AI-focused wearables. These could include advanced smart glasses, AirPods integrated with camera technology, and a circular AI pendant designed to be worn around the neck or attached to clothing. These devices are expected to contribute valuable data to Apple's evolving AI ecosystems.

Future Computing and Augmented Reality

Beyond these immediate prospects, Apple's reported plans also encompass significant advancements in computing. A touchscreen MacBook is rumored to be in development, alongside an ambitious augmented-reality (AR) glasses project targeted for a 2028-2030 launch. These AR glasses are envisioned as a potential long-term replacement for the iPhone.

Additionally, a larger 20-inch foldable iPad is also reportedly on the horizon, signaling Apple's commitment to exploring new form factors across its tablet range.

This aggressive product strategy contrasts sharply with the Tim Cook era, which saw the introduction of three major new product categories: the Apple Watch, AirPods, and the Vision Pro. For John Ternus, the immediate challenge will be to successfully execute this ambitious hardware pipeline while simultaneously bolstering Apple's underlying AI capabilities to support these next-generation devices.
