Apple's Foldable iPhone Design Leaked in White Ahead of 2026 Debut

· · 2 min read

Early design details for Apple's anticipated foldable iPhone, dubbed 'iPhone Fold,' have emerged from dummy units shared online. The device is expected to feature a book-style form factor, similar to the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7, and may launch in a single white color variant.

New reports offer an early glimpse into the rumored design of Apple's first foldable smartphone, provisionally named the 'iPhone Fold'. Leaked dummy units, reportedly intended for accessory manufacturers, reveal a sleek, book-style form factor, suggesting a potential launch as early as September 2026 alongside the iPhone 18 Pro models.

Design Details Emerge for iPhone Fold

According to tipster Sonny Dickson, who shared images of the dummy units, the iPhone Fold is expected to adopt a book-style foldable design, drawing parallels to devices like the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7. The revealed design indicates a wider-than-usual form factor with a 4:3 aspect ratio for the main display.

Key design elements include an ultra-thin 4.5mm titanium frame, contributing to a premium feel. The physical volume buttons are rumored to be relocated to the top edge of the device, while the familiar Action Button seen on recent iPhone Pro models may be absent. Instead of Face ID, reports suggest the iPhone Fold could utilize Touch ID for biometric authentication.

Display, Camera, and Color Specifications

The leaked dummy units point to a dual-display setup: a 5.5-inch cover display and a larger 7.8-inch inner OLED display. The cover display is expected to feature an edge-to-edge design with subtle curved edges, enhancing the device's modern aesthetic.

For optics, the iPhone Fold is shown with a horizontal dual-camera setup on the rear panel, housed within a camera bump reminiscent of the iPhone Air design. The front-facing camera for the inner display is reportedly positioned in the top-left corner. Further details suggest a redesigned rear microphone system featuring seven drilled holes.

Perhaps most notably, the iPhone Fold is rumored to launch exclusively in a single white color variant, offering a clean and minimalist aesthetic for its debut into the foldable market.
