Anthropic has announced a significant expansion for its AI agent, Claude Cowork, making it available on mobile and web platforms. Previously launched in January 2026 as a desktop-only application, Cowork's enhanced accessibility is now rolling out to users subscribed to Anthropic's premium 'Max' plan.
This update transforms how users can interact with their AI-powered workflow. The core functionality allows individuals to assign complex tasks to Claude Cowork from their desktop, then close their laptop while the AI continues to process the request in the background. Users can now monitor progress and access completed outputs directly from their smartphones or any web-enabled device, offering unprecedented flexibility.
Seamless Workflow Across Devices
The transition of Claude Cowork to mobile and web means that productivity is no longer tethered to a single workstation. An individual might, for example, instruct Claude to analyze email conversations, transcribe meeting notes, review recent news, and compile a comprehensive briefing document, all initiated from a desktop computer. As the AI works, updates and requests for user input or approval can be pushed directly to a user's phone, allowing for continuous task management on the go.
Anthropic highlighted this seamless integration in an X post, stating, "Hand Claude a task at your desk and pick up the finished work from your phone. Close the laptop, and Claude keeps going." This capability is particularly beneficial for professionals who need to manage ongoing projects and information analysis without constant desktop access.
Availability and New Features
Claude Cowork is now accessible to iPhone, iPad, and Android users through a dedicated sidebar within the existing Claude app. Additionally, web browser access is provided via claude.ai, ensuring broad compatibility. To celebrate this rollout, Anthropic is offering doubled Cowork usage limits as a promotional incentive for eligible subscribers.
The company also indicated future plans to extend access to Claude Fable 5, another advanced AI model, to all paid plans in the near future, further enhancing the suite of tools available to Anthropic's user base.
