Anthropic Appoints Jai Gidwani to Lead India Go-To-Market Team

AI company Anthropic has appointed former GitLab executive Jai Gidwani to its founding Go-To-Market (GTM) team in India. This move aims to expand Anthropic's commercial presence and foster enterprise adoption of its generative AI tools across the country.

Anthropic, a leading artificial intelligence firm, has announced the appointment of Jai Gidwani to its inaugural Go-To-Market (GTM) team in India. This strategic move signals Anthropic's accelerated expansion efforts within the crucial Indian market, focusing on deepening engagement with enterprises embracing generative AI technologies.

Gidwani will report to Irina Ghose, who is spearheading Anthropic's operations in India. Announcing his new role via a LinkedIn post, Gidwani expressed his enthusiasm: "Happy to share that I've joined Anthropic as part of the founding GTM team in India, under Irina Ghose's leadership." He further added, "It's an exciting time to be building in AI, and I'm looking forward to contributing to Anthropic's mission of developing AI that's safe, reliable, and genuinely useful."

Expanding Anthropic's Commercial Footprint in India

The appointment of Gidwani is central to Anthropic's strategy to establish a robust commercial presence in India. The company aims to connect with a broader base of businesses looking to integrate advanced generative AI tools into their operations, fostering innovation and efficiency across various sectors.

Jai Gidwani's Extensive Industry Background

Jai Gidwani brings a wealth of experience in business development and market expansion to his new role at Anthropic. Before joining the AI giant, he spent over two years at software development platform GitLab, where he most recently served as a senior business development representative. His tenure at GitLab began as a business development executive.

Prior to GitLab, Gidwani was an integral part of Salesforce-owned MuleSoft's India team, contributing significantly to enterprise business development and supporting the company's market growth. His career also includes key business development and sales positions at data integration startup Hevo Data and procurement software company Zycus. Gidwani holds a Bachelor of Engineering degree in electrical, electronics, and communications engineering from Thadomal Shahani Engineering College, providing him with a strong technical foundation to complement his commercial expertise.
