Muthoot Fincorp Secures BCCI Home Cricket Title Sponsorship Until 2028

· · 2 min read

Muthoot Fincorp has become the new title sponsor for India's home cricket matches, partnering with the BCCI until March 31, 2028. The two-year deal, valued at an estimated ₹130-150 crore, covers all international and domestic competitions hosted in India.

Kochi-based Muthoot Fincorp has officially been named the new title sponsor for all of India's home cricket matches, solidifying a two-year partnership with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that extends through March 31, 2028.

This significant agreement encompasses all international series and tournaments hosted within India, alongside various domestic competitions organized by the BCCI. The sponsorship cycle is set to commence with the upcoming three-match One Day International (ODI) series against the West Indies.

Deal Valued Up To ₹150 Crore

The comprehensive title rights package is estimated to be worth approximately ₹130-150 crore, contingent on the final per-match valuation and the total number of games included. Initial reports suggest a base price of around ₹4.85 crore per match, though some sources indicate the final per-match payout could be closer to ₹4.3 crore. The two-year term is anticipated to cover roughly 35 home international fixtures, including Tests, ODIs, and T20Is, as well as age-group and other domestic tournaments.

BCCI and Muthoot Fincorp's Strategic Alignment

For the BCCI, securing Muthoot Fincorp as a title sponsor before a major home series was crucial, preventing a branding gap after IDFC First Bank's tenure concluded in August 2026. The board has also finalized partnerships with other key entities for this commercial cycle, including Campa, SBI Life, and ChatGPT, collectively pushing the value of its home-season sponsorships beyond ₹130 crore—a notable increase from the previous cycle.

In an official statement, the BCCI highlighted the natural synergy between the financial institution's extensive pan-India presence and the widespread appeal of Indian cricket. "The association brings together Muthoot FinCorp’s strong presence across India with the nationwide reach of Indian cricket," the board stated, also noting that Muthoot’s distinctive blue branding creates a visual connection with India's national teams, often referred to as the 'Men and Women in Blue.'

For Muthoot Fincorp, a prominent non-banking financial company in India, this sponsorship is a cornerstone of its "Blue Muthoot" rebranding initiative. The company aims to leverage cricket's immense popularity as a platform to enhance brand recall, build trust, and boost visibility among mass audiences, particularly ahead of a busy schedule of home matches. The partnership was formally announced via a BCCI release on September 26, 2026.
