CSK Climbs to 8th in IPL 2026 Table After Key Win; KKR Rock Bottom

Chennai Super Kings secured a vital 32-run victory over Kolkata Knight Riders at MA Chidambaram Stadium, moving to eighth place in the IPL 2026 points table. KKR, however, remains at the bottom, still searching for their first win this season.

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2026 season saw a significant shift in the lower half of its points table after Match 22. Chennai Super Kings (CSK) secured a much-needed win, defeating Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) by 32 runs at the MA Chidambaram Stadium on Tuesday.

This victory propelled CSK to the eighth position in the IPL 2026 points table. Having played five matches, they now hold two wins against three losses, accumulating four points with a net run rate of -0.846.

KKR's Struggles Continue

Conversely, Kolkata Knight Riders' challenging season persists. After five matches, KKR is yet to register a win, with four losses and one match ending in no result. With only one point and a net run rate of -1.383, KKR currently occupies the tenth and last spot in the standings, facing an uphill battle in their upcoming fixtures. Their next challenge is against Gujarat Titans on April 17 in Ahmedabad.

Top Teams Consolidate Positions

At the apex of the IPL 2026 points table, Rajasthan Royals continue their dominant run, leading the pack with eight points from four wins in five matches and an impressive net run rate of +0.889. Punjab Kings hold the second spot with seven points from four matches, having won three games, with one ending in no result.

Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are placed third, boasting three wins from four matches and a strong net run rate of +1.148.

Mid-Table Battle

The mid-table remains fiercely contested, with Sunrisers Hyderabad, Delhi Capitals, Gujarat Titans, and Lucknow Super Giants all tied on four points. Their positions are determined by their respective net run rates, ranging from SRH's +0.576 to LSG's -0.427.

Mumbai Indians are currently in ninth place, with just one win from four matches, giving them two points and a net run rate of -0.772.
