Actor Vikrant Massey, known for his roles across various platforms, is now venturing into the hospitality sector. He and his wife, Sheetal Thakur, are bringing the popular 'Musafir Cafe' from his web series into reality with two new establishments in the scenic hills of Dharamshala, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand.
Recreating the On-Screen Experience
The concept behind these cafes is to replicate the serene and conversational atmosphere depicted in the 'Musafir Cafe' series, where Massey's character, Chander, thrives amidst travel and a relaxed mountain backdrop. These venues are envisioned to be more than just standard food and beverage outlets; they aim to offer an immersive experience for visitors.
Construction work for both locations has reportedly commenced, with designs closely mirroring the fictional cafe. Massey shared his enthusiasm for the project, stating, "I was chatting with Divya, Sharanya Rajgopal [show creator], and Vijay Subramaniam [founder of Collective Artistes Network] about how it would be a great idea to recreate the on-screen experience of the show in real life."
A Hub for Artists and Travelers
Beyond serving coffee, food, and books in peaceful surroundings, the 'Musafir Cafe' initiative will also feature approximately 20 rooms designed for artist residencies. These spaces are intended to provide a tranquil retreat for artists to live, work on creative projects, and escape the hustle of urban life.
The project is being developed under Massey’s production company, Homemade Stories. While the Dharamshala location has been identified, specific details regarding the Uttarakhand cafe’s address, as well as booking information, pricing, and exact facilities, are yet to be announced. The final launch dates for both cafes will depend on construction progress and official confirmations from the team.
