Bollywood icon Salman Khan and his family are reportedly planning to relocate from their long-time residence, Galaxy Apartments in Bandra, Mumbai. The move comes after 50 years of the Khan family residing in the iconic building, driven by increasing security concerns following threats directed at the actor.
A Half-Century of Memories at Galaxy Apartments
Salman Khan, despite his superstar status, has famously chosen to remain in the same home where he grew up. The actor has often expressed a deep emotional connection to Galaxy Apartments, a place he considers integral to his childhood, family, and life journey. In previous interviews, Khan stated he has “countless memories attached to that house,” which is why he never felt the need to move elsewhere.
“The entire building is like one big family,” Khan once shared, as reported by news agency IANS. “When we were little, all the kids of the building would play together in the garden below and sometimes even sleep there. Back then, there weren't different houses, all the houses were treated as our own and we would go into anyone's house to eat food. I still stay in the same flat because I have countless memories attached to that house.”

The Khan family, led by veteran screenwriter Salim Khan and his wife Salma Khan, first moved into Galaxy Apartments in 1974. While Salman’s siblings eventually established their own homes, the actor opted to stay close to his parents.

Thousands gather outside the building on special occasions, including his birthday and festivals, hoping to catch a glimpse of the star from his famous balcony.
