Bollywood actor-dancer Nora Fatehi is facing a substantial ₹3 crore civil defamation lawsuit. The suit, filed by Ahmedabad-based Dunes Aviation, alleges that Fatehi's social media remarks, describing one of their chartered aircrafts as a “toy” and “Lego airplane,” caused significant damage to the company's reputation and business.
The Allegations: 'Derogatory, Reckless' Remarks
Dunes Aviation claims that Fatehi recorded and posted videos on her Instagram account in December 2025 while flying from Mumbai to Jaipur on a Cessna Citation CJ2 aircraft. In these clips, she allegedly used terms like “miniature,” “toy,” and “Lego airplane” to describe the jet.
The aviation firm asserts that these comments were made “without any technical knowledge, verification or factual basis,” labelling them as “derogatory, reckless and irresponsible.” They contend that such remarks from a public figure with over 4.6 crore Instagram followers severely undermined confidence in their fleet and service quality, particularly among high-net-worth clients.
Impact on Business and Legal Demands
According to the complaint, the alleged defamatory posts have led to tangible commercial losses for Dunes Aviation. The company reports booking cancellations and a notable 15–20% drop in inquiries and reservations since the videos went viral. They are seeking ₹3 crore in damages to compensate for the “serious reputational damage, loss of goodwill and adverse commercial impact.”
Beyond financial compensation, Dunes Aviation is also demanding the immediate removal of the allegedly defamatory content from Fatehi’s social media platforms.
Court Proceedings Underway
The civil defamation suit was filed in a Gandhinagar court, with the first hearing scheduled for September 25, 2026, before Senior Civil Judge R Agarwal. During this initial stage, the court is expected to issue notices to Fatehi and consider any interim pleas, which could include requests to take down the controversial posts or prevent further comments on the matter.
Should the case proceed to trial, the court will need to determine if Fatehi’s remarks legally constitute defamation, whether Dunes Aviation can definitively prove direct financial losses linked to the posts, and if the actor’s content falls under protected opinion or crosses into damaging assertion.
This lawsuit adds a new legal dimension to Nora Fatehi’s public persona, drawing further scrutiny to the impact and responsibility associated with celebrity social media activity.
